Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 27, 2026
1. Introduction
PDF Toolkit ("we", "our", or "us") is deeply committed to protecting your privacy. Our core philosophy is that your data belongs to you. This Privacy Policy outlines what minimal information we collect, the local processing nature of our tools, and how third-party services (like advertising networks) operate on our site.
2. Local File Processing (Zero Uploads)
We do not upload, read, process, or store the contents of your PDF files on our servers. All document manipulation (merging, splitting, encryption, etc.) occurs strictly within your local web browser leveraging WebAssembly (Wasm). Consequently, we have no technical ability to access, leak, or sell your private documents. The only exception is if a logged-in user explicitly chooses to upload and save a file to their personal cloud history. Even then, files are stored securely and can be permanently deleted by the user at any time.
3. Information We Collect
We may collect the following data to provide and improve our service:
- Account Information: If you elect to create an account, we collect your name and email address for authentication purposes.
- Analytics Data: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data (e.g., page views, tool usage frequency) to help us improve the platform.
4. Google AdSense & Advertising Cookies
To keep PDF Toolkit free for everyone, we use third-party advertising companies, specifically Google AdSense, to serve ads when you visit our website.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve targeted ads to you based on your visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
5. GDPR & CCPA Compliance
For users residing in the European Economic Area (EEA) and California, you hold specific rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Because we do not store your PDF files locally, these rights primarily apply to your account email address. If you wish to delete your account entirely, you may do so from the dashboard settings or contact us directly. We utilize a consent management platform (CMP) where required to collect your consent regarding non-essential advertising cookies.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time as our services evolve (e.g., the introduction of a Premium tier). We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
